Michael Dunlop celebrated another triumph at the Supertwin race on Friday and already had one eye on the Senior Race.
The victory marked the 33rd all time win for Dunlop, who praised his team and bike performance.
Reflecting on the race, Dunlop said: “I backed off a little bit, obviously, because I seen I had a bit of a lead. The gap dropped away after the pit stop, but I come back up again. I better push on here.”
He added: “We just nursed her the last lap, but it’s nice here.”
Dunlop also highlighted the competitive field, noting: “Everyone’s on Patons, but these budget Patons are a great wee bike.”
He extended thanks to his team, including Stefano, Lorenzo, and Andrea, for their support:
“The bike’s been mint as a double there again. I like to have a lap on me, almost like no stress of trying to see what I could really do.”
The race saw Dunlop overtake Paul Jordan in the final stages which helped Jordan finish third.
“I just want to go the way. My job was to win the race,” he said.
Looking ahead to the Senior TT, Dunlop remained focused: “I’ll have a go. That’s four this week already. It’s a bit of an achievement again.”
