Bus Vannin’s services are suspended across the island this morning.
A decision on whether the schools will open or not this morning, as well as an update from Bus Vannin, is due by 7am.
With further hail falling overnight, even with the DoI gritting roads, there are several areas where ice is a problem.
At Ronaldsway, ice has again closed the runway with the London City flight cancelled.
An airport update said: “Our runway is currently closed until further notice due to snow and hard ice.
“Despite de-icing treatment carried out yesterday evening, conditions remain challenging. Our team is continuing to work to de-ice and remove snow from the runway and taxiways; however, this is unlikely to be effective in the coming hours and will impact flight schedules.”
A number of other UK airports are also experiencing closures and disruptions due to the current weather conditions.
