Efficiencies Programme Identifies 96 Projects

The Chief Minister says the Efficiencies Programme has identified £7m in potential savings.

He provided the figure in an answer to Speaker Juan Watterson.

In a written answer, Alf Cannan stated work has focused on “accelerating existing initiatives across the public sector and identifying opportunities for new reforms”.

He added that the programme is structured around five pillars, with an emphasis on “maintaining the quality and accessibility of services while making processes simpler, faster and more cost-effective”.

Progressively

As at the end of June, potential initiatives with financial benefits of more than £7 million have been identified.

These benefits are estimated and will be “realised progressively over time as projects are completed”.

A breakdown shows the largest savings were identified in Contracts (£2.81m) and Assets (£2.71m), followed by Digital (£1.68m).

The Chief Minister confirmed that all departments are now engaged and 96 potential projects have been identified.
