Electronic Flag Test Planned For Tomorrow

Organisers of the Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix will carry out a course‑wide test of the electronic flag system tomorrow between 7am and 9am.

The digital displays, positioned at flag points around the Mountain Course, form part of the event’s Safety Management System and act as an additional layer to the traditional marshal‑operated red flag procedure.

The system allows the Clerk of the Course to instantly signal a race stoppage, improving visibility and ensuring rapid communication to riders, marshals and officials.

All displays will illuminate simultaneously during the test window. There will be no impact on public road access, and road users do not need to take any action.

Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson MBE BEM said the early‑morning slot was chosen to minimise disruption, adding that organisers appreciate the cooperation of residents and road users as final safety preparations continue for this year’s Classic TT and MGP.
