Emergency Road Closures in Place

The Department of Infrastructure has issued two emergency road closures across the island today.

A section of the A3 Ramsey to Castletown Road will close from 10am for up to 4 hours.

The section of road, also known as Barrule Road, lies between the junction with the Shoulders Road and Corlea Road.

Emergency Closures

The emergency closure has been granted to allow the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture (DEFA) Hills, Forests and Glens teams to fell roadside trees.

Following recent high winds, the trees have been found to be in a dangerous condition and at risk of falling on the road.

The other closure is on Patrick Road (between St Johns and Patrick) which closed to through traffic at 9am this morning, it will be shut until no later than 4pm.

This is to allow further work to be undertaken to secure the roadside bank which suffered a land slip during last week’s Storm Bram.

The site of the slip is at the eastern end of the road. It is expected that all necessary work will be completed today.

Access to all properties will be available from one side of the road or the other.
