Expect Bus Disruption All Week

Bus Vannin has warned issues with staff shortages will continue to have an effect on services this week.

In a post on Facebook it apologised to passengers hit by recent cancellations and thanked people for their patience.

It said that staff shortages will “continue to have an effect on what can be delivered this week and updates will be posted on this page”.

Numbers

Bus Vannin said its full service requires a total of 92 drivers, but there are currently 10 vacancies for full-time drivers and eight are today absent through illness.

It added: “Thanks go to the driving staff who are working hard to deliver the best possible service under challenging circumstances, as well as the Supervisors who have the daily challenge of minimising the impact to the travelling public.

“The campaign to recruit new drivers is attracting applications and, in some cases, training is already being undertaken.”
