A local initiative offering free, informal family law advice has been warmly welcomed, with strong uptake since its launch three months ago.
MannBenham Advocates’ Family Law Drop-In Afternoons provide confidential guidance on matters including separation, child arrangements, and financial issues, without the need for an appointment.
Senior advocate Emma Ratcliffe said: “In the few months we’ve been running these sessions, we’ve seen first-hand how much it helps just to have someone listen.”
She added: “Our aim is to make legal advice feel human, accessible, and practical.”
Advocate Jade Bradley highlighted the importance of a welcoming environment, saying: “We want people to know they can come in, have a conversation, and leave feeling clearer and reassured.”
Following positive feedback, the sessions will continue monthly.
The next is on Tuesday February 10, from 12pm to 3pm at the firm’s Victoria Street offices in Douglas. No appointment is necessary.
