Last year, Peel Town commissioners submitted their plans to regenerate the promenade and provide more facilities for the community.
They included a new cafe, crown Green Bowling Club, house and public toilets on the current tennis courts, which the commissioner’s said were underused and could be better located elsewhere.
But those plans were squashed by the Planning Committee, which found they were contrary to the sites tourism designation.
