Firefighters Handle Car Blaze

Fire crews responded to a car fire in the Little London area shortly after 6:20pm this evening..

One fire engine from Kirk Michael was mobilised after the owner smelt smoke and got out of the car.

Station officer Murray Halsall said: “On arrival it could be seen that the fire was well established and had spread to the near by hedges.

“A further appliance from Kirk Michael and water bowser from Douglas were mobilised for water supplies. Two breathing apparatus wearers brought the car fire under control using a hose reel and 45mm jet while the remaining crew extinguished the hedge fires.”

No injuries were reported.
