The North Ward of Ramsey Town has elected four women to the town’s commissioners.
This means that over half of Ramsey Town’s Commissioners are women.
The South Ward, which went uncontested, saw three women take seats on the local authority.
Of the twelve seats that were available in total, seven of them are now taken up by women in the town.
Women in Ramsey
The women elected in Thursday’s (April 24) local authority election were:
- Elizabeth Shimmin
- Margaret Webb
- Emma Honey
- Pauline Johns-Garrett
Joining the women on the board in the North Ward is Wilfred Young and Juan McGuinness.
McGuinness topped the polls in the town with 477 votes.
