A yellow weather warning for frost comes into place at 6pm this evening.
Clear skies coupled with light winds will cause road temperatures to fall below freezing this evening and overnight, leading to a widespread ground frost.
With most surfaces dry there is only a small risk of icy patches forming where preexisting moisture is present however, hoar frost deposition is likely.
The warning remains in place until 11am tomorrow (December 31) morning.
