Simon Gawne claimed his third MFX Ltd End to End Walk title at the weekend, adding to wins in 2023 and 2025.
He took control after Bride and was never challenged, extending his lead to more than 40 minutes by the finish.
His time was outside his personal best, but he delivered a composed, controlled performance that underlined his status as one of the island’s strongest endurance walkers.
Gawne also has two runner‑up finishes, in 2021 and 2022, cementing an impressive record in the event.
Performance of Sophie’s Career
Sophie Watterson‑Jones delivered the performance of her career in the End to End Walk, winning the women’s race for the second time and finishing third overall after a superb late charge.
Her time of 7:16:52 was almost 12 minutes inside her previous best from 2022, making her the seventh‑fastest woman in the event’s history.

After a steady start, she powered through the field on the demanding hills in the second half, closing rapidly on second‑placed Chris Addy and finishing just over a minute behind him.
It was a determined, high‑quality display that earned warm congratulations at the finish from her son Oli, her father and fellow competitors.
