Glover Reflects on Final Tynwald Day

Tim Glover MHK

Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover says it has been a “huge, huge honour” to serve in the House of Keys as he marked his final Tynwald Day before stepping down at the end of the political term.

Speaking to Manx.News, Mr Glover noted this was his sixth Tynwald Day of the term, including the additional sitting held following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of King Charles III, and said he intended simply to “enjoy” the day.

He highlighted his work on scrutiny as the standout element of his five years in office, particularly his time on the Social Affairs Policy Review Committee.

He also referenced his decision to bring a vote of no confidence in the Chief Minister, saying he felt it was necessary amid public dissatisfaction and a lack of action from other members.

“I’ve stuck to my guns, I’ve worked hard, and that’s all I promised I would do,” he said.
