Manx residents planning a trip to Spain are being urged to ensure they have valid Travel Insurance in place before departure.
Under new Spanish regulations, travellers arriving without proof of adequate insurance may face fines of up to €6,900 (£5,900).
A Manx insurance firm states that these rules apply to non-EU visitors, including those from the Isle of Man.
Travellers must be able to show evidence of Travel Insurance that covers emergency medical treatment, hospitalisation, and repatriation.

Natasha Beaumont, Director at a local Insurance firm said: “Ideally holidaymakers should purchase Travel Insurance as soon as they have booked their trip, but it can be purchased at any point before you leave your home address to begin your journey.
“It is important that your policy covers the full value of your trip and that you always read your policy documentation to ensure your policy covers you back to your home address on the Isle of Man.”
