The government has identified £7.4m in financial benefits in the first quarter of its Efficiencies and Change Programme.
It said the programme is the central vehicle for its ambition of delivering at least £10 million in savings this financial year
The programme, which aims to deliver at least £50m in savings over five years, currently has 96 projects in progress across its five priority pillars: Digital, Contracts, Assets, People, and Services.
In his foreword, Minister without Portfolio Tim Crookall said: “The purpose of the work we are doing is not only to generate savings, but give better outcomes for the public and improve how we work in order to focus on the things that matter most, to our community and our staff.”

The quarterly report highlights several completed projects, including the organisation-wide rollout of Microsoft Co-Pilot, which early results show “can save at least 30 minutes a day per user”.
The transition to digital pay slips has also been completed, “delivering agreed savings of £13,000 per year in paper and postage costs”.
A staff suggestions scheme has also been launched, with over 80 ideas received by the end of June.
The report notes that the programme is “still in the early stages of this journey,” but the government is committed to being open.
“Through resources such as the Overview of the Public Service Workforce report and this quarterly update, we are committed to being open about progress, challenges and the impact the Programme is having as we accelerate change,” Mr Crookall said.
A separate update on Manx Care’s Cost Improvement Programme noted that £2.6m in efficiencies had been achieved in Q1 against an annual target of £14.6m.
