Government says help will be widely available for anyone unable to access online services when the Post Office stops handling driver and vehicle transactions on April 1.
All services will move to services.gov.im, but the Department of Infrastructure says it recognises that not everyone has digital access or confidence, and is putting support in place from March 31.
The Vehicle Test Centre and a new Online Support Centre at the Sea Terminal will offer face‑to‑face assistance, with temporary support provided at the Welcome Centre during refurbishment.
Help Available
Staff will help residents complete transactions on supplied or personal devices and accept pre‑completed paper forms.
Libraries in Ramsey, Port Erin and Castletown will provide public access PCs, internet and printed forms, with more locations being explored.
Third‑sector partners, Live at Home, Age Concern and Southern Befrienders, will offer bookable one‑to‑one sessions, group support and, where appropriate, home visits.
Support will be available across Douglas, Onchan, Laxey, Ramsey, Port Erin, Castletown and Peel, forming part of wider plans to develop community support hubs as more public services move online.
