Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend GP practices will be closed – The Manx Emergency Doctors Service (MEDS) will provide cover throughout.
MEDS will be in operation until Tuesday, April 2 at 8am, whilst GP practices will be closed on March 29, 30, and 31 and April 1.
GP surgeries will reopen on April 2.
Easter services
The full list of health care service changes over Easter are listed below:
- ED will be operating as normal from Friday, March 29 – Tuesday, April 2.
- Ramsey’s Minor Injuries and Illnesses Unit (MIU) will be open from 08:00 – 20:00 (last opportunity to book in 19:30) on March 29, 30, 31 and April 1 (there will be no X-ray facilities, however Noble’s Radiology will be operating an emergency on-call service 24 hours a day from March 29 – April 2).
- The Diabetes Centre will be closed from March 29 until April 2.
- Community Dental Services and NHS Contracted Dental Services are closed on March 29, 30, and 31 and April 1 – emergency dental care can be provided by the Emergency dental service between 09:00 and 11:00 on these days. The rota is available here: www.gov.im/dentists
- Optician practices will be closed on March 29, 30, and 31 and April 1. There will be no MECS cover – urgent eye conditions will be seen via MEDS or ED.
- The Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Service will be closed on March 29, 30, and 31 and April 1. Any emails or voicemails will be picked up from Tuesday, April 2 onwards.
- MCALS will be closed on March 29, 30, and 31 and April 1. Any emails or voicemails will be picked up from Tuesday, April 2 onwards.
