Gracie Barra Isle of Man wrap up successful year

Gracie Barra Isle of Man have had yet another incredibly successful year as a Team in 2023.

Twenty-One Lead and Assistant Coaches took 1,937 sessions throughout the year.

114 Competitors travelled to the UK and further afield to compete in regional, National and International tournaments.

For the first time ever, teams from the Isle of Man attended the IBJJF European Gi Championship and IBJJF Kids European Championship as well as representing the Isle of Man at the IBJJF World Nogi Championship.

The team brought back the following medal haul this year: 46 Gold, 38 Silver and 52 Bronze.

The Isle of Man gained its first IBJJF European Gi Champion along with IBJJF European Gi and Nogi medallists, our fifth British Champion and British medalists as well as three IBJJF Kids European Medalists, plus one athlete attained a world ranking of number 3 in IBJJF Rankings.

Head Coach Conrad Roberts said: “We held numerous kids and adults training camps throughout the year, including full competition preparation sessions. We also held several seminars hosting current and former IBJJF World, ADCC, European and British Champions as well as UFC Coaches.” 

We provided self defence training and risk mitigation for local High School sixth form students and those attending UK Universities. We currently have 276 students training with us 7 days a week.
