Great Britain selection for Regan Corrin

Manx athlete Regan Corrin has been selected to represent Great Britain in the high jump at the European U18 Track & Field Championships to be held in Slovakia from July 18 to 21.

There has been lots of good news for the Isle of Man’s massively talented group of young athletes recently, but this is surely the best yet.

This selection is no more than 17-year-old Regan deserves after a brilliant start to the season in both high jump and long jump, and is the latest step in an already highly impressive athletics career.

Regan Corrin

A member of Manx Harriers and based in Loughborough since last autumn (but now home for the summer), Regan adds hard work and focus to his tremendous natural athleticism and is a highly ambitious athlete.

Regan won the gold medal in the high jump on his Island Games debut in Guernsey last year, and followed that by competing in the high jump and long jump at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad & Tobago later in the year.

His selection really is brilliant news, not just for Regan himself but for Manx athletics generally.

He is already an inspiration to many of the younger athletes coming through the ranks, and all the more so when he is seen in a Great Britain vest next month!
