The Department of Infrastructure anticipates that Fenella footbridge in Peel will reopen on either Sunday or Monday.
The bridge deck has been lifted back in place and is mechanically ready for service.
DoI engineers will now reinstatethe electrical and hydraulic control systems, with work continuing over the weekend, followed by testing of all systems.
It is anticipated that the bridge will reopen to pedestrian traffic either on Sunday, or more probably Monday of next week.
Some ancillary work will continue on the periphery of the site next week, but this will not affect access to the bridge or its operations.
