The government has declined to comment on speculation that it was presented with an opportunity to buy Manx Telecom.
Manx Radio has reported that MT is in talks with the parent company of Jersey Telecom, the JT Group with regards a sale.
It has also been said that the company was offered to the Manx government, but that it declined the offer.
A spokesperson said: “It would be inappropriate to provide a specific comment on any individual business which may, or may not, be going through a commercial transaction until such time as any such transaction is confirmed publicly.”
A MT spokesperson also declined to comment on speculation or unverified information.
