Sarah Callow, UCM’s Creative Media Technician has had her work featured in an international photography book and several exhibitions in the UK.
‘Food Stories’, a contemporary photobook that explores the cultural and emotional connections we have with food, has published one of Sarah’s photos.
Additionally, the Sea Front Gallery in Sussex has included Sarah’s work in their exhibition ‘Return To The Sea’, which focuses on coastal landscapes and the intersection of nature and human intervention.
International Recognition
In the new year, Sarah’s photography will also feature ‘The Cambridge Open 2025’ at the ARB Building at Cambridge University.
This exhibition will run from 13 January to 21 March 2025, bringing together an internationally selection of curated work to promote the future of photography through diverse and creative imagery.
These recent achievements are the latest in a series of successful exhibitions and publications that have solidified Sarah’s reputation as a talented and creative Manx photographer, with a keen eye for how urban landscapes and human experiences come together.
UCM Technician
A former Isle of Man College alumni herself, Sarah also has a Masters in Film and Media Production from Sheffield Hallam University.
She has worked at UCM for more than a decade in her current role as the media technician, supporting creative media courses.
Sarah said: “I’ve always wanted to be creative. Within my photography I look for things that might be unseen or overlooked by most people and try to frame those moments in a way that will illustrate aspects of beauty.
“It’s exciting to have my work featured in ‘Food Stories’. This book represents a fascinating exploration of how food connects us, and I’m honoured to contribute my photography to such a meaningful collection.
“It’s rewarding to see how my passion has led to opportunities like this, and I’m grateful for the continued support of UCM and the local creative industry.”
