Senior government finance officials from 25 small countries will arrive on the Isle of Man this weekend for the 2026 Small Countries Financial Management Programme.
Delegates from nations including Bhutan, Tuvalu, Lesotho and St Vincent and the Grenadines will take part in the seven‑day programme, held at University College Isle of Man.
The initiative brings together professionals from finance ministries, central banks and regulators, giving them access to leading academic expertise and ongoing support for high‑level projects in their home institutions.
Cabinet Office Minister David Ashford MBE MHK said the Island was “delighted to welcome delegates”, adding that the programme strengthens collaboration between small nations and supports the sharing of practical expertise.
This year’s curriculum will focus on leading teams and organisations, negotiation and influence, and major global challenges including climate change, technology, artificial intelligence and the economic pressures facing small states.
Programme executive director Gary Roberts QPM said more than 400 participants have completed the course since its inception, helping position the Isle of Man as a leader in international development among small nations.
