‘It will be very emotional but it’s something I need to do for Dan’

The wife of a TT rider who tragically passed away will complete the “lap he never got to finish”.

Helayna Ingham will complete the lap today (Friday) in memory of her husband Daniel Ingham, whose life was cut short during this year’s TT.

Helayna said: “When I first thought about bringing Dan back to the island, I never imagined how many people would want to be part of it. I felt it was important to finish what he started.

“The Isle of Man, Manx Grand Prix and the TT were such a huge part of Dan’s life. It was where he chased his dreams, made lifelong friendships and created some of his happiest memories.”

She said the lap “will undoubtedly be emotional, but knowing we will be surrounded by so many people who loved Dan will make it a little easier”.

“Thank you to every single person who has supported us, whether you’re joining us, waving us off, waving from the course, sending a message or simply thinking of us. We truly couldn’t do this without you.”

The riders will assemble at the end of pit lane in front of the TT Grandstand at 10.45am and depart at 11am. People are invited to join the ride or wave them off.

The Hailwood Café (behind the grandstand) will be open following the lap with free tea and coffee.
