Braddan Parish Commissioners says it hopes the access to its Roundhouse centre will be finished by Christmas.
The entrance, which will connect to Ballaoates Road, was needed after the DHSC threatened to block access through the ground of Noble’s Hospital.
Sharing pictures of the work, the authority said the work is “well underway”.
It said: “The roadway is planned to be open before Christmas 2024
and will hugely improve access to our fantastic facilities up here at The Roundhouse.”

The roadway was needed after the DHSC ruled it would not let people access the Roundhouse through Noble’s Hospital, citing traffic and safety concerns despite a previously health minister seemingly giving it the green light.
This followed the scheme falling behind and going over budget by £3.5m, which contributed to the authority hitting residents with the island’s largest rates increase (36.6%).
Ratepayers are also footing the bill for the entrance to the Roundhouse, £220,000, having also bought the land off the DHSC to build the road for £250.
