A juvenile has been charged with the murder of a 14-year-old who died in Ramsey last week.
As part of the ongoing investigation into the death of Christopher Benjamin Robert James McBurnie on Thursday May 29, in Close Drean, Ramsey, a male juvenile has been charged with murder following advice from the Attorney General’s Chambers.
Due to the age of the individual, no further identifying information will be released.
Detective Superintendent Stephen Maddocks said: “I want to reiterate the appeal the Chief Constable made on Friday regarding videos and rumours circulating on social media, and appeal for the public to refrain from sharing such content or speculating on this matter.”
Retribution
Police are also investigating threats of retribution made online and in person.
Mr Maddocks stated: “We have already made arrests and are currently investigating other reports that will likely result in further arrests. It is understandable that emotions are running high, but it is important to remind all concerned that these incidents detract from the investigation.”
The juvenile will appear before the next available court.
