It is Saturday, and that means the most highly anticipated weather report for the Isle of Man is back, and it brings sunny vibes.
Before I get into my weekly weather rant I’d like to address an issue that was brought to my attention: Last weeks forecast offended a few dear readers, *spoiler alert* It didn’t offend my brother.
Those of you who know me will be very aware of the phrase that went through my head when I was made aware, but for those of you who don’t and don’t enjoy my forecasts and find it, on the odd occasion, ‘offensive’, let me explain its purpose.
The winter has been long, hideous, and financially crippling, never mind the mental health impact, especially for those of us who farm, have animals, and work outside.
All of us have needed a laugh, and that is what this has been an attempt to do: share everyone’s thoughts on the sh*t show of winter and changeable seasons.
If it has offended you, apologies, but maybe this isn’t the forecast for you; it is a choice to read it.
Morrey monologue
This is my own weather monologue, that of a horse girl who has spent the winter questioning life decisions while caked in mud and drowning in feed costs.
When the complaints were brought up with my boss, his reaction was “I thought Mary Whitehouse was dead?”, I’m far too young to get this joke, but have since googled.
Hopefully that is cleared up, and if you’re still here I take it a few choice words, a sense of humour, and freedom of speech is up your street, so lets get to the weather, shall we?
Sunny side up
Today (May 18) is going to be sunny with a top temperature of 18C, a light N or NW 10-15 wind that will increase to 15-20, decreasing 10-15 later.
Looks very similar for tomorrow (May 19), with a little less wind, it’ll be N or NW, veering E or NE later, 10-15.
Dare I say, next week also looks rather settled. Monday (May 20) is forecast to be the same as the weekend, maybe one degree cooler, down to 17C.
Tuesday (May 21), not actually looking too bad as its forecast to be a wee bit cloudy with the risk of rain at times, some occasional brightness – this could change, so don’t hold me to it.
Hopefully this forecast hasn’t upset anyone and we can get back to normal antics next week.
