Update: The road has reopened.
The Police say the Whitebridge Road in Onchan is currently closed to all traffic except for residents and buses.
Buses will service the route as planned, but there may be a slight delay.
Residents are asked to approach officers on the closure points to be granted access.
The closure is between the junctions of Windermere Drive and the junction with King Edward Road.
Traffic will be diverted onto King Edward Road/Groudle Coast Road to maintain access between Douglas and the north of the island.
It’s expected that the road will re-open at midnight.
