Sir Keir Starmer will become Prime Minister today after his Labour Party won a landslide in Thursday’s general election.
While the final votes have not yet been declared, it is likely that Labour will finish with over 400 seats.
In a bad night for the Tories, several big names lost their seats including justice secretary Alex Chalk, defence secretary Grant Shapps, culture secretary Lucy Frazer, education secretary Gillian Keegan, leader of the house Penny Mordaunt and Jacob Rees-Mogg.
However no result summed up the night for the Tories more than the defeat of former PM Liz Truss.
The Lib Dems had their most successful election for a century, with the party picking up over 70 seats..
Elsewhere, Nigel Farage has won a seat in the Commons at the eighth time of asking as he won the Clacton constituency with a massive majority.
His was one of four seats won by Reform.
The co-leader of the Green Party Carla Denyer claimed a big scalp from Labour as she won the Bristol Central election, while Jonathan Ashworth also lost his Leicestershire South seat to independent Shockat Adam.
Other noteworthy results saw Labour win large swathes of Scotland as the SNP collapsed, Jeremy Corbyn retained his Islington North seat as an independent and George Galloway lost the Rochdale seat he won in a by-election earlier this year.
