Laxey’s beach has been recommended as one of the ferry destinations in the British Isles.
Discover Ferries, an industry body for the passenger ferry sector, has recommended its 10 best secret beaches accessible by ferry.
While acknowledging Laxey is far from a hidden spot, the website says it does “hide a secret”.
“At low tide, the steep stony slope turns into a huge sandy beach and reveals a network of sea caves and rock pools ripe for exploration,” it adds.
Other beaches featured include Watcombe Bay on the Isle of Wight, Helen’s Bay, near Bangor in Northern Ireland and Plémont Bay in Jersey,
