Braddan Commissioners has submitted an application to host a campsite outside the Roundhouse.
Its proposal is for a “small number” of motorhomes and around 53 tents on the grass outside the building.
In a cover letter, the commissioners said it plans to set up three days before the start of the race schedule and will allow three days after for teardown.
The application states that the authority has spoken to residents and is “not aware of any objections to the proposal,” the letter states. The matter was also presented at a public meeting on 3rd July 2025, which was “attended by three members of the public who expressed positive feedback.”
Acknowledging potential overlap with existing provisions, the commissioners confirmed: “Commissioners have initiated discussions with the [Union Mills Football] club to ensure cooperation and avoid competition.”
The aim is to position the site as a “family-friendly space for visiting guests”.
