Local racing driver wins his second UKC award

Local racing driver, Jay Pearson has won the Ultimate Karting Championship (UKC) 2023 Peoples Choice Award.

A red carpet black tie awards evening was held at the Manchester concord centre for the UKC award winners.

Jay, who is based in Port Erin, lines up against the best drivers in the world in Senior Rotax achieving top 10 finishes and pole position starts, appearing on Sky TV.

Local driver plans to race in Europe

The 17 year old, who studies at University College Isle of Man (UCM), travels the length and width of the country to compete and has his sights set at challenges in Europe for the 2024 season.

He is now a full team driver with SPR Sam Pollitt Racing Team hoping to progress and achieve more goals.

The local lad has been in the racing seat since he was 6 years old, and previously won the UKC Most Improved Driver 2022 beating over 300 drivers.

Ultimate Karting Championship

Many successful drivers have gone through Ultimate Karting Championship including but not limited to Daniel Guinchard who now races F4 and Kenzo Craigie who now races Junior F1.
