The ManSat Scholarship competition is underway to find Year 12 students to represent the Isle of Man at the 2025 United Space School (USS).
The 2025 USS takes place from July 13-28 and will see young people from more than 20 countries work together to plan a crewed mission to Mars.
River Advisers has awarded scholarships to Isle of Man students to attend the USS since 2000.

The competition is open to the Island’s five high schools and King William’s College.
The most recent winners were Leo Crowe and Charlie Needham from Ramsey Grammar School, and William Shooter from St Ninian’s High School.
The USS is run by the Foundation for International Space Education (FISE) and the students will be supported by NASA astronauts, engineers, and scientists.
River Advisers is awarding up to three scholarships for the 2025 competition.
To enter, Year 12 students need to submit written answers to these three questions:
1. Why are you interested in space?
2. What excites you the most about the future of space exploration?
3. How do you think the Isle of Man can contribute to the future of space exploration?
The answer to each question should be between 500 and 1,000 words in length – quality is better than quantity – and all three questions must be answered.
Answers should be submitted in a single PDF file, by email, to education@mansat.com
The file should be named using the following convention: firstname-secondname-school.pdf
Entries will be anonymised before judging takes place.
The deadline for entries is 11:59pm on Friday, January 10. Late entries will not be accepted.
The winners will be announced by Friday, January 17.
