Manx Care will reintroduce in-person exit interviews for departing staff after less than a third of leavers completed exit forms in 2024.
The figures, disclosed in Keys this week, showed 25 nurses, four consultants, and six non-consultant grade doctors left the taxpayer funded health body last year.
Minister for Health and Social Care Claire Christian told members that Manx Care wants to “better understand why staff may choose to leave'”.
She added: “Therefore, in-person exit interviews will be reintroduced this year, and information gathered will be used to inform a programme of staff retention work.”
Last year the most common reasons for leaving were retirement, end of training, and resignation.
The delay in implementing the People Culture Engagement Strategy, approved in 2022, was also scrutinised.
Julie Edge asked:”This has been ongoing since 2022. Would the minister take up with the board why there has been no progress till 2025?”
The minister responded that the strategy had been active, with exit interviews being “re-established” as part of broader retention efforts.
