Manx Dairy Products Are Best

A Manx milk producer has shown that knowing where your food is sourced is for the best after growing concerns on animal feed additives.

Cooil’s Dairy said it had received several phone calls in relation to a feed additive being trialled in cow feed to help reduce methane that is produced from cows.

Bovaer is the commercial name for 3-Nitrooxypropanol (3-NOP) which is a potent methane mitigator that can now be fed to lactating dairy cattle to reduce enteric methane emissions.

Cooil’s says that it does not use the feed that contains the additive named BOVAER or 3-NOP; Feed company’s by law must declare the entire ingredients of the product.

The dairy says that the best thing to do would be to consume only Manx Dairy Products whereby you can see where it comes from.
