A dog that was trained by a Manx teenage girl has been recruited by Greater Manchester Police.
17-year-old Millie Smith bought Donnie from the UK as a eight week old puppy.
Donnie was trained up to police standard by Millie at her home, before she had a few extra training sessions with K9X.
K9X then put Millie in touch with Manchester Police, who once hearing about Donnie came over to the Isle of Man to visit him and said yes to having him.
Millie’s hard work has more than paid off, as PD Donnie has recently graduated from Greater Manchester Police Tactical Dog Unit.
He was deployed on January 4 and helped locate three suspects for burglary.
