Many thanks to Steve Partington for sending photos and some information from last nights (May 16) Manx Harriers 5k races on the NSC Roadway.
The men’s run was described as a brilliant last lap burn-up, with Chris Killey (1165) taking victory from Harry Stennett (1147) and Richard Shipway (1135), with Max Hammal in fourth.
Clearly age and size are irrelevant as far as running success goes, with nearly 45 years between Richard and Harry, and nearly as much of a height difference between Harry and Chris!
Laura Dickinson (1184) won the women’s race, with Caroline Mayers (1198) second, Kirsty Barber (1145) third, and Joanne Schade was fourth.
Manx Harriers
The first three in the 3k walk, with Timothy Perry (102) winning from Lilee Fletcher (101) and Amy Surgeon (103); All three walked personal best times.
The 5k walk was won by Jock Waddington, with Jayne Farquhar second and Phill Swales third. The 2k walk was won by Jay Jay Fletcher from Poppy Davies, and Jack Davies won the 1k walk.
