Douglas Fire Station has congratulated sub officer Martin Corlett on his retirement after his 24 years with the service.
Beginning his career with the Isle of Man Fire & Rescue Service in April 2000 as an on-call firefighter in Douglas, he joined the whole time service later that year.
Over the years, he has served in various roles across the organisation and held several instructor positions, sharing his knowledge and expertise with others.
The Fire Service said: “Today also marks a historic moment, the first time in over 60 years that the Corlett family is not represented within the Fire & Rescue Service.
“Martin follows in the footsteps of his father, Arthur, and brother, Gary, both of whom also served with dedication.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to Martin for his commitment and contribution to the Fire & Rescue Service and wish him all the best for the future.”
