Medals Are Pouring In

Harry Robinson wins the Men’s 50m Backstroke

It has been a busy night for the Team Isle of Man up in Orkney with medals coming from all across the sporting spectrum.

The women’s gymnastics team have won a combined four medals, including three individual awards.

Claiming the silver in the women’s team four piece, the Manx team was only beaten by the Faroe Islands.

Amara Brogan also claimed the silver in the vault while Elise Pease and Aine Matthews both took bronze in the bars.

The Manx team has now won 10 medals in gymnastics.

Swimming

In the pool Harry Robinson won gold in the 50m backstroke with a time of just a fraction over 24 seconds.

Laura Kinley took silver in the women’s 50m breaststroke, missing out on the gold by just 0.8 seconds to Kara Hanlon from the Western Isles.

Earlier on Alex Turnbull claimed the island’s first medal in the pool as he took bronze in the men’s 100m breaststroke.

Lauren Dennett has also taken bronze in the Women’s 200m freestyle

Badminton

Inside the courts, the Manx side beat Menorca to claim bronze.

Archery

The Manx team of Aalin George, David Moore, Ethan Moore, Rhys Moore and Andrew Westmorland has also taken the silver medal in compound archery.
