Tynwald members are to be asked to have general debates on immigration, connectivity, economic development and public service next month.
General debates have no real impact on parliament as they have no resolution, but have proved useful for difficult topics in recent years such as support for people living with ME.
The debates are being sought by Julie Edge (Onchan), Chris Thomas (Douglas South), Claire Christian (Douglas South) and Tim Glover (Arbory, Castletown and Malew).
All of their motions on the register of business mention the government conference, which follows members raising concerns that government was using the days out at the Comis Hotel as a way to announce policies rather than them being announced in Tynwald.
