Douglas East MHK Joney Faragher has criticised the lack of a proper explanation given for the cancellation of around 40 bus services this weekend.
Transport chiefs blamed “operational constraints” after 31 buses were cancelled on Saturday, with more cancelled on Sunday.
The Manx Labour Party leader said she has submitted a written question for more information on what the reasons were behind the services being cancelled.
She said: “I’ve seen people talking about how other services have been impacted, outside of those advertised as cancelled. On a personal note, yesterday I had to go collect my son, as he’d been waiting nearly an hour for his bus.
“It wasn’t on the list of cancelled services. According to the app, it was stationary on Broadway for the entire time he waited.
“You may know I am a regular bus user. I have a lot of love for our bus drivers and I respect what Bus Vannin as a service do, generally.
“But I don’t think it’s acceptable that we have not been given a proper explanation about what it is that’s affecting our bus services.”
