Motorists can now manage more of their vehicle and driving licence needs online as the Department of Infrastructure expands its digital services.
As part of its ongoing digital transformation programme, the DoI has added several new functions to the government’s online portal.
These include an expanded vehicle tax service allowing all motorists to pay online, updating personal details, upgrading a provisional driving licence to a full licence, and requesting duplicate documents such as vehicle registration certificates or tax discs.
A new service dashboard has also been introduced, giving logged-in users easier access to DoI services in one place.
Online Changes
Nicola Hodson from the DoI said improving customer convenience was a priority.
She added that the expanded online services make it easier than ever to manage vehicle and driving documentation, with “how to” video tutorials due to be released soon.
Feedback from users of earlier digital services has already helped shape the latest improvements.
The digitisation of DoI services forms part of the government’s wider Efficiencies and Change Programme, aimed at making public services simpler, faster and more cost-effective for residents.
