Mountain Marathon Entries Pass 200

With just over four weeks until entries close, this year’s Manx Mountain Marathon has surpassed 200 entrants across the 49km full course and 21km Half Marathon.

This week, the figure stood at 208, with 137 entered for the Full Marathon and 71 for the Half.

Almost half of those entries are from visiting runners, with countries represented including The Netherlands, Ireland and Andorra.

Several clubs from across the UK have multiple entries including Helm Hill Runners, Dark Peak Fell Runners, Mynydd Du and Springwell RC (Northern Ireland) amongst others.

This year’s event will be the 54th time the full Manx Mountain Marathon has been run, and the event has a long and rich history with many of the greats of fell running among past competitors.

The races take place on Easter Saturday (April 4) with entries closing on March 14.

In recent years the event has had more than 300 entries on occasions, and with the usual late surge it looks like that figure may well be reached again across the two races.
