The Mountain Road will be closed until at least tomorrow lunchtime following more snowfall last night.
Beinn Y Phott Road and Tholt Y Will Road will also remain closed until at least midday tomorrow.
The DoI said: “Yesterday our teams had cleared a significant amount of Sunday’s snowfall from the mountain route. Unfortunately, there has been significant new snowfall overnight, which has set this work back and much needs to be re-cleared.
“The department’s tractor mounted snow blower and our snowplough/gritters are currently operating on the Mountain Road, and will move to the other two roads in due course.
“In addition, our on-call staff were deployed in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 7 January) to grit roads that were affected by icy conditions so that they were treated before the morning’s commuter traffic was on the road.
“Further gritting was done as necessary later in the morning.”
