David Mullarkey produced an exceptional showing as the sole GB representative at the World Road Running Championships in Copenhagen, storming home in a time of 13:31 to secure 21st place.
The time on Saturday (September 19) marks a PB performance from Mullarkey, delivering his fastest ever 5km on the road in and amongst a field stacked with world-class pedigree including Norwegian superstar Jakob Ingebrigtsen, and reigning Commonwealth 10,000m Champion Ky Robinson.
The Commonwealth 10,000m bronze medalist was the eighth European to cross the line, in his first international outing since the European Athletics Championships in August.
