Manx Wildlife Trust’s (MWT) new seed hoppers that have been installed on farmland around the Island help farmland birds through the ‘hungry gap’.
Farmland Bird Officer, Rob Fisher, says that the trust is “thrilled to have evidence of Tree Sparrows at the feeders”.
Wildlife cameras have been helping to monitor their movements with as little human disturbance as possible.”

Rob also held a ringing session recently in an unharvested sunflower field and the results have blown away the Manx Wildlife Trust.
69 birds were ringed and this included 14 Tree Sparrows and 10 Reed Buntings.
These are the first tree sparrows to be ringed on the Isle of Man in a decade!
