New Bar For Departure Lounge

Airport Director Gary Cobb has outlined plans to improve Ronaldsway, including a new bar for the departure lounge.

The state of the departure lounge was highlighted in a series of social media posts earlier this year.

Addressing the government conference, Mr Cobb said there will be a new bar and Costa Coffee, including new seating, high seats with charing units, as well as more coffee machines and tills to speed up services.

Other improvements include extended the downstairs holding lounge (a strange priority given its use), a new website and real time customer feedback points.

The airport’s website was last updated in 2021, at a cost of £24,835.

Future

Mr Cobb also addressed the future of the airport, with a vote on that direction being due before Tynwald in November.

He added that a masterplan for Ronaldsway is due to be published and consulted on at the end of this year or early next year.

Among those considerations is the option for arms-length operations, though similar set ups across the government have drawn the ire of voters in recent months.
