Manx Care’s Tissue Viability Service is establishing ‘Well Leg Drop-In’ clinics from the middle of this month.
These sessions are for those who are known to, or have previously been seen by, the Tissue Viability Service.
They will start from September 16 and will run from 1:30pm to 3:30pm every Tuesday at the Independent Living Centre, Westmoreland Road.
Venous Disease
The aim of the clinics is to promote healthy legs for those at risk of venous disease and related issues.
People who attend can seek advice on compression to prevent further deterioration, along with education on maintaining leg health.
These drop-ins have been established as a response to ‘healed leg clubs’, which offer holistic, patient-centred care in a social setting, promoting healing, reducing recurrence, improving patients’ quality of life and empowering them to manage their own health.
If you are not known to the Tissue Viability Service, but it is a service you require, please ask your healthcare workers to refer you via the Wellbeing Partnership eForm.
No appointments are required, and members can pop in to chat over a cup of tea or coffee while awaiting treatment and/or advice.
