Christopher Brannigan has been appointed as the Isle of Man Government’s new Executive Director of Crown and External Relations.
His role is primarily to provide advice and support to the Chief Minister, the Council of Ministers, the Lieutenant Governor and other government departments on external relationships to uphold the national interests of the Isle of Man.
Having relocated to the Island, Mr Brannigan brings a distinguished record of public service in the United Kingdom with extensive experience across business, the armed forces and the public sector.

He served as the Director of Government Relations at No 10 Downing Street, enabling relationship engagement between government and businesses, the not-for-profit sector and faith communities.
As a member of the No 10 Policy Unit he was one of the architects behind the Integrated Review of Security, Defence, Development and Foreign Policy.
Mr Brannigan served in the UK Armed Forces for over 20 years with extensive experience on combat operations across the globe including Iraq and Afghanistan.
His commercial experience has included working with a broad range of UK and international companies advising businesses and not-for-profit organisations on political strategy and government engagement.
He is a regular commentator on UK and international media, is a contributor to a number of leading UK think tanks and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
