A narrow road which runs down the side of the ill-fated King Gaming campus remains closed after being left unusable due to those works.
DoI Minister Tim Crookall previously said a contractor had been appointed to fix the road and that it would reopen early this month.
The lane which becomes Switzerland Road, has been closed since development started on the ill-fated King Gaming campus.
In October, Mr Crookall said the lane was “unsafe” for pedestrians or vehicles.
Following another written question from David Ashford (Douglas North), Mr Crookall outlined that the campus works were the cause of the issue.
He said: “In order to facilitate construction works by Excel in respect of the King Gaming Campus, a road closure was put in place; as part of these works, modifications to the road have taken place rendering it as currently unsuitable for regular vehicular traffic or pedestrians.
“The closure expired on Tuesday November 5 2024; discussions between the department and Excel in respect of returning the road to a suitable condition are ongoing. The department will continue to monitor the situation and will reopen the lane as soon as it is feasible.”
